Hiero is an inquiry into contemporary East Asian poetics through the medium of furniture design. We liken East Asia to a many-faceted jewel, whose regional aesthetics neighbor each other while expressing their own unique character and tone. By carefully shining a light into the jewel and studying it from different angles, we aim to explore how its facets reflect one another and, in so doing, contribute to the brilliance of the whole.
