Studio Word is a design studio formed by Kyuhyung Cho and Jungyou Choi and based in Seoul, Korea.
Mr. Cho received a Master’s degree from Konstfack, while Ms. Choi holds degrees from Design Academy Eindhoven and ECAL. They have developed collections, editions and one-off works for The Conran Shop, Hermès, Iittala, Menu (n/k/a Audo) and Wallpaper*, among others. Their work has won international accolades including a Design Anthology Award 2021 and been featured in books such as A Century of Colour in Design (Thames & Hudson, 2021) and Woman Made (Phaidon, 2021).

Stillness is made in Japan through the collaboration of a third-generation manufacturer of wooden furniture and a specialty upholsterer. Both factories are located on the island of Kyushu, in a furniture-making region celebrated for woodcraft traditions tracing back to the 16th century.
